Books on Prescription

Check out Books on Prescription at Waitaki District Libraries.
The Books on Prescription scheme is an effective way of helping people with common mental health problems and is based on similar schemes that have been running successfully in the UK since 2003. WellSouth gained permission to implement the scheme in New Zealand in 2011 and began working with libraries in Central Otago. Since then the scheme has been progressively rolled out throughout Otago and Southland and is now available in all the Public Libraries in this region and to staff and students at the University of Otago through the University’s Medical Library. For more information you can go to the founding website HERE
